Mailo is a mail client for macOS, iOS and iPadOS. It has no server, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your email travels between your device and your mail provider. I never receive it.
Google user data
With your consent, Mailo uses the Gmail API to read, label, archive, move, trash and send your email (scope gmail.modify). It reads your email address (openid, email) to identify the account.
Mailo uses this data only to show and manage your email in the app. It does not sell it, does not use it for advertising and does not share it, except as described under "AI features".
What the app stores
Sign-in tokens are stored in the Keychain of each device and are not synced. Email is cached only on your device.
Settings, sender rules and classification results (labels and scores, no email content) can sync between your devices through your own private iCloud container (Apple CloudKit).
AI features
Mailo sorts and summarises email with Apple’s on-device model and Apple Private Cloud Compute. Apple does not store this data.
If you turn it on, short excerpts of newsletters and automated notifications can be sent to TypeSafe AI or Anthropic for classification. Personal email, sensitive email (for example login codes or bank messages) and attachments are never sent. These providers do not train models on this data.
Limited Use
Mailo’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Deleting your data
Remove an account in Mailo to delete its tokens and cached email from that device. You can revoke Mailo’s access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
